Hong Kong

I was born in Hong Kong, a small city which housed more than 6 million people in the 90s. The pace of the city is fast, evryone seems to be rushing on the streets. People there work hard and play hard. There are many round-the-clock shopping malls and restaurants where you can shop and eat whenever you want.

I completed high school education in Hong Kong, and have gone through the HKCEE and HKALE public exams - the two Big Ones - before entering the university.

Because of my height, and the many outdoor basketball courts in Hong Kong, I have a strong interest in basketball since then (plus jogging, yoga, gym and golf for now).

Vancouver, BC Canada

Just before I prepared to accept the offer from thr University of Hong Kong, I was notified that I received a scholarship to study at the University of British Columbia in Canada (UBC) . It began my five years overseas study in Canada.

Vancouver is a beautiful place. You can do many different outdoor activities especially in the nice summer. Jogging, gym, playing hackysack and frisbee, snowboarding, swimming, etc. were the things I loved to do when I was there.

I have learned to be an active person with critical thinking during my undergraduate study. This is the most precious thing I have gained from the "Beautiful British Columbia".

Pittsburgh, PA USA

From my education at UBC I discovered my interest in the use of information technology to streamline the workflow. Also, I understand that many people are frustrated by poorly designed computer interface. The problem cannot be solved merely by the breakthrough in computing technology. A new way of user-centered design should be adopted.

Therefore, I have come to the Human-Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) to obtain interdisciplinary traning in computer interaction design. I will graduate with a Master of Human-Computer Interfaction in Aug 2005.

Life is full of surprises. Nobody knows where you will be or who you will meet next. Nevertheless, I have always been making the best use of my time in extending my knowledge as well as challenging myself.
